PSNA National meeting in Rotorua

– 5pm Friday May 1 to 1pm Sunday May 3, 2026 –

PSNA are holding our National Hui in Rotorua on Friday 1st of May to Sunday 3rd of May. The venue is a marae where most people will be able to stay with any extra accommodation provided in cabins or billeting with locals. Alternatively you may like to make your own accommodation arrangements.

PSNA will be covering the cost of meals and accommodation and we’d like you to register with Anne secretary@psna.nz as soon as possible to help with planning.

We imagine most people coming from the South Island and lower North Island will need to fly and others will come by car. Either way if you need help with a travel subsidy please let Anne know.

If you are flying we advise to BOOK NOW to get reasonably priced airfares.

Please note there will be a Mihi Whakatau (welcome) late on Friday afternoon so please try to arrive by 5pm on the Friday.

This national will be a critically important event for people from around the country to come together to build the campaign to isolate genocidal, apartheid Israel and build the campaign for Palestinian liberation.

We are fighting the most important human rights issue of the 21st century and we need your help to shape, plan and organize for the future.

Winston Peters, chief apologist for Israeli genocide, in Tauranga

Tauranga Moana local Palestine group are organising a protest – if you live anywhere near then please join them outside the meeting.

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters thinks he is being clever in refusing refused to condemn Israel for any of its myriad of war crimes in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon etc, and has refused to condemn the US/Israel for their illegal attack on Iran.

Winston Peters is always US/Israel-First, not New Zealand First.

No Wanaka holidays for Israeli genocide

If you live anywhere close to Wanaka join this local protest. Here is the message from the organisers.

Upcoming protest action outside Zula Lodge (Albert Town/Wanaka)

Saturday 21st March 10am - 2pm

Meet 10am at the Albert Town Camp Ground, east entrance (see attached Map) for a pre-action briefing, before moving to Zula Lodge.

Do not share this on social media. However please share this quietly and extensively with your friends particularly with those in Central Otago.

This will be a peaceful action in support of Palestine and against Genocide.

Bring signs and flags, though there will be lots to spare if you don’t have your own.

We would like a narrow focus on:

  • No holidays in NZ for Israeli Defence Force

  • Free Palestine

Depending on numbers there will be speeches, chanting and music.

This will be a peaceful action in support of Palestine and against Genocide.

We aim to demonstrate that NZ civil society does not welcome IDF, on holiday from committing Genocide, to our shores. If the New Zealand government will not live up to its responsibilities under international law… and to humanity… civil society must take action.

Zula is a backpackers set up by American evangelicals ‘Chosen People Ministries’, specifically to target Israeli soldiers on holiday "after getting out of the army", to provide a place for “rest and relaxation” - which is what the Hebrew word ‘Zula’ means. Zula’s management “100% supports” Israel’s genocidal actions, as they are in line with their version of biblical prophesy, where all of ‘greater Israel’ becomes part of Israel’s undemocratic ethno-state. Palestinians, for these Zionists, are simply obstacles to be removed.

We say there should be no holidays for perpetrators of genocide, in Aotearoa!

Demand Israel’s suspension from UEFA

Celtic fans display a banner stating 'show Israel the red card' at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 12, 2025. Action Images via Reuters/Lee Smith

The Israeli government is carrying out a genocide in Gaza, using white phosphorus in Lebanon and dragging the whole region in a devastating war against Iran... Yet European football bosses are acting like it’s business as usual and are even helping Israel whitewash its crimes on the European stage by playing the 2026 Nations League.

Banning Israel from international sport is picking up steam, and if national football federations speak out, they could force UEFA to hold a vote.

Tell European football federations: demand Israel’s suspension from UEFA.

What the police told us about “move -on” orders

Last month a delegation from PSNA met with senior police to discuss the blatant bias in policing towards Palestine solidarity protestors compared to rogue violence from members of the pro-Israel lobby

We also raised the issue of so-called “move-on” orders and in response were told “the intent of the law does not include protestors”. Here is a snip from the police minutes of the meeting.

This is not good enough – there are many laws brought in with other intentions which have then been used to restrict the right to protest eg trespass orders and unlawful assembly laws. Unless protest under the Bill of Rights Act is specifically excluded from the law then police will use “move-on orders” it to curb protest rights.

We are still waiting for a response from the Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith.

If you want to ask Minister Goldsmith to tell you that he doesn't intend to use the Move On Orders to stop lawful protest yourself, please click here. (Please ensure you edit your name into the email)

The email will be set up by Your email server.
Have a go.

Are you able to donate a cup of coffee a month to the campaign?

We will need some serious money to make our campaign as effective as possible. For example, we will need somewhere in the vicinity of $25,000 to bring speakers to New Zealand over the next year and organise large public meetings to help spread the message.

You can help. Are you able to donate a cup of coffee a month to the campaign? In other words, can you afford to make an automatic payment of $5 per month to support the Palestinian struggle? (If you can afford more that would be great!)

Our account details are:

  • Account name: Palestine Solidarity Network

  • Account number: 38-9015-0849542-00

We are happy to provide a receipt upon request (however, we are not a registered charity so this is not tax-deductible)
