Israeli Genocide Holiday Season in NZ – pictures are coming in
Calls to our genocide hotline have stepped up and we are receiving lots of pictures of Israeli soldiers on holiday here from serving in the genocidal Israeli Defence Force. They are being challenged and given the clear message that they are not welcome here. See PSNA media release here
Please keep these pictures and stories coming in - here are a few of the latest:

“Palestine is still the issue” – re-release of John Pilger’s famous film
To mark the second anniversary of the passing of John Pilger, CN presents his 2002 documentary Palestine Is Still the Issue followed by CN’s 2021 discussion with Pilger and historian Ilan Pappé.
John Pilger, who was among the most important journalistic voices in the West on the Palestinian question, died on Dec. 30, 2023 in the midst of Israel’s genocide against Gaza, his profound warnings having been ignored about where the crisis was headed.

14 countries urged Israel to halt settlement construction in the occupied West Bank – but not New Zealand
To the ongoing shame of New Zealanders, our government refused to sign up to a joint statement by 14 western countries urging Israel to halt settlement construction in the Occupied West Bank. (Just before Christmas Israel announced approval to build 19 more illegal Israel settlements on Palestinian land)
Small western countries such as Malta and Iceland signed the letter as well as the UK and Canada – countries which are part of the “five eyes” US-led intelligence agreement – signed the letter.
Why not New Zealand?

Keep spreading the message about the Genocide Hotline!
Remember possible action for local groups
For groups affiliated to PSNA we suggest the following actions could be taken at any time in support of this campaign
Asking your local backpacker accommodation to display the poster and draw it to the attention of any Israeli soldiers here on “rest and recreation” from the genocide.
Pasting the hotline poster (use the version in this newsletter which includes a contact email) around the vicinity of backpacker venues in your local area. This is already happening in some areas.
Hand out flyers to people in the vicinity of your local backpackers
Contact us on the hotline if you come across Israeli soldiers

Are you able to donate a cup of coffee a month to the campaign?
We will need some serious money to make our campaign as effective as possible. For example, we will need somewhere in the vicinity of $25,000 to bring speakers to New Zealand over the next year and organise large public meetings to help spread the message.
You can help. Are you able to donate a cup of coffee a month to the campaign? In other words, can you afford to make an automatic payment of $5 per month to support the Palestinian struggle? (If you can afford more that would be great!)
